2 | REGISTRATION FOR I-VOTING Action required All eligible voters need to enter their details in the online form (as well as their mobile number to receive a one-time password) and submit to the Law Society for verification at https://lawsocietysg.wpengine.com/ivoting/register.aspx. Please note that registration is now open and will be closed at 5PM, Friday, 18 October 2019. You will not be able to vote online if you do not complete the registration process. Once the registration is verified by the Society, a notification e-mail will be sent to the voters with the address of the election web-portal. I-voting may be tested before the actual election and the address of the testing portal will be sent together with the notification e-mail. Voters are strongly encouraged to do testing before the election to ensure compatibility of the devices used to vote on the actual day. See here for an illustration of the registration process for i-voting. |
3 | ELECTION DAY |
The election web portal will be open for voting from 7.00am and will close at 7.00pm sharp (Singapore time) on Thursday, 24 October 2019. To vote, a voter has to log on to the election web portal together with a one-time password sent to the registered mobile number. After successful verification by the system, the ballot screen will appear. Once the ballot is made available on the voter’s screen, the voter may select the candidates by checking the box next to the candidates’ names and review the ballot carefully before submission. Once the ballot is submitted, the process is irreversible. The system will also not permit the voter to login again once submission is made. See here for an illustration of the voting process. Voting terminals will be set up at the Society’s premises for members who are required to vote but do not have access to a computer, mobile phone or tablet. Please bring along your NRIC or any photo identification document to vote personally at the Society’s premises from 8am to 6pm. Voting at the Society’s premises will be by way of i-voting only. | |
