Joo Toon LLC is a well-established law firm, specialising in civil and commercial litigation, jointly led by Mr Lim Joo Toon and Mr Michael Lukamto.
Lim Joo Toon is a former District Judge and former Senior Assistant Registrar. His former judicial experience provides a unique advantage of being able to view and analyse legal disputes objectively from the perspectives of the Court.
Mr Lim has immense experience and in-depth knowledge acquired in the course of private practice, as formerly State Counsel, Attorney-General’s Chambers and as an Arbitrator in international and domestic disputes.

Our Lawyers
Lim Joo Toon
Mr Lim Joo Toon is a former District Judge, Subordinate Courts (now known as State Courts) and formerly Senior Assistant Registrar, Supreme Court. He was also formerly State Counsel, Attorney-General’s Chambers.
Joo Toon graduated from the National University of Singapore with LLB (Hons). He was awarded the prestigious Legal Service Overseas Merit scholarship and obtained Masters in Law from University College London (UCL), specialising in commercial and corporate law (with a Mark of Merit).
He is an accredited Arbitrator with substantial experience both as arbitrator and as counsel. He is on the Panel of Arbitrators under the Law Society Arbitration Scheme and (LSAS). He has also served as an Arbitrator on the Regional Panel of Arbitrators, Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC). Additionally, he is admitted as a Fellow at the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators and is also a trained mediator of LEADR (Lawyers Engaged in Dispute Resolution) Australia.
He has served in a committee of the Singapore Law Society and has also held academic teaching positions with the National University of Singapore, Singapore Institute of Management and the Board of Legal Education.
Joo Toon has a broad range of dispute resolution experience in all areas of the law and at all levels of the Court system from the State Courts to the Court of Appeal.
Michael Lukamto
Michael is an Associate Director of Joo Toon LLC. He graduated with an LL.B. from the Exeter University in 2017 and was called to the Singapore Bar in 2020. Prior to this, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management in 2013.
Michael’s practice focuses on commercial law and civil disputes. Michael has expertise and experience in litigation and mediation in the type of cases undertaken by us. He has worked on a range of cases, such as, appeals, defamation suits, financial and family disputes, and claims involving breaches of fiduciary duties.
Examples of some of the several cases he has worked on include a financial / investment dispute involving a major bank, which was mediated successfully by a Senior Judge of the Supreme Court, as well as a trial in the Family Justice Courts in a dispute by a sibling over a will which did not provide for him and the other siblings as beneficiaries.
