The Law Society of Singapore is pleased to announce the launch of the Structured Workplace Mentoring Programme (SWMP) on 9 January 2026.
Developed in line with the recommendations of the Ethics and Professional Standards Committee’s Final Report dated 8 January 2025, the SWMP seeks to enhance the professional development of junior lawyers through structured and meaningful mentorship by senior lawyers within the same law practice. To support this, the Law Society has developed a comprehensive and flexible syllabus that law practices may adapt to their organisational needs.
The SWMP is structured around three core programme areas: (i) Core Values of the Legal Profession, including integrity, professionalism and justice; (ii) Safe and Sustainable Workplaces, focusing on the prevention of workplace harassment and bullying and the adoption of sustainable practices; and (iii) Practice Management, covering key regulatory, ethical and operational competencies.
