What We Do
Our team is led by a director with more than 25 years of legal practice. We are lawyers with a proven track record, committed to remaining a trusted business partner to our clients.
Corporate Department – We handle the review of commercial contracts, drafting of agreements for start-ups and investors, and cross-border transactions involving fundraising, IPOs, and inbound and outbound mergers and acquisitions. We also advise on corporate law, employment law, and a wide range of other commercial matters.
Employment Department – We advise on a wide range of employment matters, including the drafting and review of employment contracts, workplace policies and handbooks, disciplinary and termination issues, workplace investigations, and employment-related disputes.
Probate Department – We advise on all aspects of probate and estate administration in Singapore. Our services include applications for Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration, resealing foreign grants in Singapore and advising on the administration and distribution of estates.
Funds Desk – We provide legal advisory services to fund managers, investors, and investee companies in relation to both open-ended and closed-ended funds, across a variety of asset classes and investment strategies.

About Siew Ling
Siew Ling is dual-qualified and advises on the laws of Singapore and Malaysia. She specializes in private equity fundraisings, VCCs and IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, and banking.
Siew Ling co-founded Avant Law LLC in 2018. She left Drew & Napier as a director after working there for about 9 years. Siew Ling began her practice in Malaysia in 2001 at Skrine and later at Zaid Ibrahim & Co. with an accumulated legal practice of 8 years in Malaysia.
She has advised clients on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, and businesses from various industries, from setting up to eventual listings on different stock exchanges.
She is able to provide personalized solutions to legal problems and to present various legal matters related to commercial legislation in an easy-to-understand manner.
She received honourable mention in The Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2016 for capital markets.
Some of matters she handles include:
- Acting as legal advisor to one of the suppliers to Google Cloud for employment, human resources, and compliance matters.
- Acting as legal advisor to a subsidiary of a Singapore state-owned investment holding company with a portfolio valued at over S$400 billion.
- Acting as legal advisor to a Singapore headquartered global provider of smart city and automatic vehicle identification technologies.
- Acted for shareholders of a Singapore-based food and beverage distributor and an exclusive distributor of Asahi’s global brands in Singapore to dispose of their majority stake to Asahi Beer Asia Limited and represented them in their joint venture with Asahi.
- Acted for a leading developer and operator in China (which specialises in a type of properties) to obtain financing for an aggregate principal amount of approximately S$174 million by issuing junior and senior convertible bonds within a very short time.
- Acted for Jiangsu Lopal Tech. Co., Ltd. (Lopal), manufacturer of chemical component for electric vehicles, in its successful listing on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, raising a total of about HK$550 million.
- Advised Chinese client as offeror in a mandatory unconditional cash offer of shares in China Kangda Food Company Limited, a dual listed public company on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong and secondary listing on the Stock Exchange of Singapore for an estimated S$44 million.
- Advised Xin Yuan Enterprises Group Limited, ranked fourth in the global asphalt tanker chartering services market (total carrying capacity of vessels in terms of revenue), in its HK$176 million initial public offering of its new shares on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
- Advised and acted for ZICO Holdings Inc. in its S$14.4 million initial public offering of its new shares on the Catalist Board of SGX. The Singapore Straits Times reported that this was a novel way for Malaysia’s biggest law firm to tap capital markets while adhering to local rules that forbid non- lawyers from owning law firms.
- Advised various entities from outside of Singapore on loans, joint ventures, fundings, mergers and acquisitions.
