Avant Law LLC was founded by partners who were formerly from the Singapore big four law firms and from some of Malaysia’s best law firms. Our corporate lawyers in Singapore are dual-qualified in both Singapore and Malaysia. We specialize in corporate law, financing, capital markets, probate, and funds.
As legal counsels, our mission is to help clients to succeed and to achieve their potential so that they in turn can help others and leave a positive impact on their communities.

What We Do
The majority of our lawyers have been in legal practice for more than 20 years. We are lawyers with a proven track record and strive to remain the trusted business partner to our clients.
Our Corporate Department handles reviewing commercial contracts, drafting agreements for start-ups and investors, cross-border transactions involving fundraisings, initial public listings, inbound and outbound mergers and acquisitions, corporate law, employment laws, and various other transactions.
Our Funds Desk provides legal advisory services to fund managers, investors, and investee companies in relation to both open-end funds and closed-end funds that deal with different asset classes and different investment strategies.

About Siew Ling
Siew Ling is dual-qualified and advises on the laws of Singapore and Malaysia. She specializes in private equity fundraisings, VCCs and IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, and banking.
Siew Ling co-founded Avant Law LLC in 2018. She left Drew & Napier as a director after working there for about 9 years. Siew Ling began her practice in Malaysia in 2001 at Skrine and later at Zaid Ibrahim & Co. with an accumulated legal practice of 8 years in Malaysia.
She has advised clients on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, and businesses from various industries, from setting up to eventual listings on different stock exchanges.
She is able to provide personalized solutions to legal problems and to present various legal matters related to commercial legislation in an easy-to-understand manner.
She received honourable mention in The Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2016 for capital markets.

- Acted as the Singapore legal adviser to a venture capital firm to finance and invest in a group of companies that is in the business of YouTube certified multi-channel network in Asia, with presences in Thailand, Malaysia, Japan, British Virgin Island, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, China and Indonesia.
- Acted as the Singapore legal adviser to a venture capital firm to finance and invest in a group of companies that is a global creative ecosystem that provides royalty free images and stock photography, with presences in Cayman Islands, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Japan, United States, China, Germany and Netherlands.
- Acted as the Singapore legal adviser to a major investor in two (2) separate funding rounds pertaining to the subscription of shares in a Singapore entity that operates the business of selling gourmet snacks.
- Acted as the Singapore legal adviser to a leading developer and operator in China, a listed company on the Main Board of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong to obtain financing for an aggregate principal amount of approximately S$174 million by issuing junior and senior convertible bonds and on the joint venture involving our client and a Mainboard listed company in Singapore.
- Acted as the Singapore legal adviser to the venture capital firm to finance and invest in a Singapore company that operates the largest digital financing platform for SMEs with headquarters in Singapore.
- Acted as the Singapore legal adviser to a Hong Kong investment firm, a Chinese state-owned enterprise in relation to a loan and charge transaction amounting to US$110 million.
