Senior Lawyer

Liesel provides a wide range of family law services to her clients. She has helped numerous locals and expats to end their marriages with dignity in both contested and uncontested divorces.

Liesel prides herself on being a good listener who knows the right questions to ask to get to the heart of her clients’ difficulties.

Understanding that divorce evokes a range of complex emotions, she is particularly talented at managing client expectations, helping them avoid impractical, emotion-based demands and remain focused on effective strategies that will help bring their situation to productive and agreeable resolution.

Senior Lawyer

Sandra has a keen interest and passion for family law.

This is reflected by her broad experience in all facets of family-related legal issues, such as will-drafting, probate and administration, divorce and ancillary matters, adoption, and guardianship matters.

Sandra is always willing to hear out her clients’ issues, and to find the ideal solution that will help them move on from difficult situations. While vigorously defending her clients’ interests, Sandra is also cognisant of the conciliatory approach in family disputes.

Sandra is both sympathetic and empathetic towards her clients, and as such will assist to find the best outcome for all parties involved.

Under Singapore family law, the welfare of the child is of paramount importance. Likewise, where children are involved in family disputes, there is inherent tension in preserving parental relations and defending one parent’s interest against another.

Further, Sandra has had the opportunity to learn and practice Syariah law, advising and representing Muslim clients in divorce proceedings.

Associate Lawyer

Sara is experienced in Family Law and is well-versed in various matrimonial matters for both local and expatriate clients.

She approaches her work with sincerity and compassion and understands the difficult process of going through a divorce and strives to achieve the best results for her clients by adopting an approach which is settlement focused.

Sara is proficient in a wide range of matrimonial matters, such as Contentious and non-contentious divorce proceedings, Maintenance / Child Custody issues, Marital agreements, Variation of order applications, Annulment, and Appeal proceedings at the High Court and Court of Appeal; and

As a litigator, Sara has been involved in the following notable cases:

• TIC v TID [2018] SGCA 75 – landmark Court of Appeal case where we successfully resisted an appeal. The Court held, for the first time, that the party who would take over the matrimonial share of the matrimonial property should solely bear the ongoing mortgage and property tax payments pending the transfer of the matrimonial property;

• VXQ v VXR [2021] SGHCF 38 – successfully obtained a favourable decision for client’s share of the matrimonial assets in a contested Ancillary Matters hearing;

• VQZ v VRA [2022] SGFC 79 – successfully obtained Interim Judgment for contested divorce proceedings. The Court held that the other party’s behaviour was unreasonable and client had met the burden required to prove the irretrievable breakdown of the marriage;

• Unreported decision (HCF/DCA 81/2020) – successfully resisted an appeal for variation of child’s care arrangements, where the Court held that the other party did not prove that there was a material change in circumstances;

• Unreported decision (HCF/DCA 29/2021) – successfully resisted an appeal for variation of maintenance, where we convinced the Court that the other party did not provide sufficient evidence of a material change in circumstances.
