Singapore Law Review Annual Lecture 2018 – Justice Aedit Abdullah on 'The Obsolescent Judge'
16 October 2018, 7.00pm-9.00pm, National University of Singapore (Bukit Timah Campus)
Has the traditional conception of a judge's role changed, and should it be reconsidered to cope with technological developments of the day? The Singapore Law Review ('SLR') will be hosting its Annual SLR Lecture on "The Obsolescent Judge". This year's Lecture is graciously co-sponsored by Clifford Chance and Cavenagh Law LLP, and will be delivered by the Honourable Justice Aedit Abdullah. The learned Justice will examine changes to the legal landscape brought by recent technological change; and how traditional notions of judging may be adapted in response to these changes.
The Lecture will be held on Tuesday, 16 October from 7.00pm to 9.00pm at the Faculty of Law in NUS, and registration begins at 6.30pm. For attending practitioners, the Lecture has been accredited for 1 Public CPD Point by SILE. Sign-ups and more information on the Lecture are available at bit.ly/SLRLecture2018, and buses may be chartered subject to demand.
