The Association of Muslim Lawyers is organising its Annual Lecture on 'Enhancing Protection for Vulnerable Victims, and other changes to Criminal Law & Procedure' at 5pm on 13 July 2018 at the MND Auditorium (MND Complex Annex A). The Lecture proper will commence at 5.50pm.
In February 2018, the Ministry of Law proposed significant amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code and Evidence Act to Parliament, aimed at enhancing the fairness of existing procedures and ensuring accuracy and equity of the criminal justice system. In this Lecture, Mr K Shanmugam, SC, the Honourable Minister for Law and Home Affairs, will speak on the areas of law surrounding vulnerable victims and other changes to criminal law and procedure.
Registration and attendance is free. This is a public lecture and all lawyers are invited to attend. Judicial and legal officers are also expected to attend.
