ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME
The Litigation Conference 2019 is proudly presented by the Civil Practice Committee of The Law Society of Singapore.
The two-day Conference (22 & 23 April 2019) aims to provide participants with fresh insights on the latest developments in the area of litigation practice by bringing together speakers representing the judiciary, litigation practitioners and supporting industry experts from Singapore and various other jurisdictions.
The focus for Litigation Conference 2019 is the Civil Justice Reforms which have been open to public consultation since 26 October 2018. The reforms will radically streamline civil procedure, reduce interlocutory applications and introduce a higher degree of case management by the judiciary. International, regional and Singapore speakers will be invited to take part in various panel discussions to exchange and share ideas and experiences on this seismic change in the landscape of Singapore litigation and what the future holds for litigation lawyers of all ages.
This year’s Conference will be a collaboration with the Supreme Court and State Courts, who will be contributing panellists with whom participants can engage on how the proposed reforms are expected to be implemented.
Highlights of some topics of the Conference include:
- Civil Justice Reform – Win or Lose?
- The Future of ADR in Singapore
