Project Law Help

About Project Law Help

Project Law Help assists voluntary welfare organisations by matching a voluntary welfare organisation, which qualifies for assistance, with a volunteer law practice to provide pro bono non-litigation commercial legal advice to the voluntary welfare organisation.

A voluntary welfare organisation approved for assistance under the scheme will be matched with a volunteer law practice and the voluntary welfare organisation will work directly with the law practice assigned.

The volunteer law practice will assist the voluntary welfare organisation with advice on legal matters including:

  • Corporate Law (eg advice on contracts with suppliers, indemnity agreements for corporate sponsors, drafting pledges for donors);

  • Employment Law (eg drafting or reviewing employment contracts);

  • Intellectual Property Law (eg advice on copyright, data protection, website use);

  • Property Law (eg lease terms); and

  • Other legal matters which are in progress or where court litigation is not a viable option.

All legal matters of the voluntary welfare organisation offered assistance under Project Law Help are handled in professional confidence by the volunteer law practice.
