Eligibility

To qualify for aid from CLAS, an applicant should be:

• facing a criminal charge in a Singapore court for an offence under the following laws;

• not admitting/pleading guilty to the charge*; and

• unable to afford a lawyer to help fight his case.

*If you are between 16–18 years of age or suffering from a mental illness, you may still be eligible for CLAS aid even if you are admitting/pleading guilty to the charge.
