The LawSoc Arbitration Rules (“Rules”) are designed to be simple and flexible in order to accommodate and dispose of a wide range of disputes expeditiously, in accordance with arbitration costs that are scaled and fixed by the Law Society of Singapore.
An LSAS arbitration is to be conducted and completed within the time frame set out in the Rules. The Rules encourage completion of the arbitration by publication of the award within 120 days (subject to adjustments by the arbitrator) from the commencement of arbitration. As a speedier alternative, parties may elect under the Rules to conduct the dispute on a “Documents-only” basis.
