Volunteer lawyers - we need
YOU!
A small donation of your time
and expertise could make a real difference in someone’s life.
The Law Reach weekend is one way in
which The Law Society and the legal profession aim to give back to
the community, by
reaching out
to people who would otherwise have no access to lawyers.
At the event, members of the public
will get to spend up to 20 minutes with a lawyer to seek basic legal
guidance and understand what their next steps should be.
Student volunteers will be on
hand to assist and support volunteer lawyers. A Legal Clinic Manual
will also be provided to lawyers with write-ups on common areas of
the law.
Some details on volunteering:
·
The legal clinics will run from 10 am to 6 pm on 24 and 25 October
(Saturday and Sunday)
·
The time slots for volunteering are as follows on both days:
10 – 12 pm
12 – 2 pm
2 – 4 pm
4 – 6 pm
Volunteers are welcome to take on more than one slot.
·
Lawyers can volunteer in pairs and request to be together in the
same cubicle for their slot(s).
If you would like to be a part of
this meaningful endeavour, we invite you to volunteer for the legal
clinics by contacting Rufus at 65360650 or
ProBonoServices@lawsoc.org.sg.
