Andrew Goh
Youthful political and ideological passion and an interest in social rights and obligations led Andrew Goh to embark upon an enriching and fulfilling education in law in England. He eventually graduated with a LL.B. (Hons) from Nottingham University followed by a Graduate Diploma in Singapore Law (Merit) from the National University of Singapore. Armed with the requisite academic qualifications, he entered the world of practice in 1999 as a litigator.
Apart from keeping his mind active from legal work, Andrew is an avid believer in keeping physically active and fit as well. Hence, a good day’s worth of legal work should ideally be accompanied by a good session at the gym or outdoors for him.
Experience
Upon being called to the bar as an advocate and solicitor, Andrew wasted no time going straight into his area of interest – courtwork. He started conducting trials entirely on his own after his first year of practice and has since become a seasoned practitioner in matters involving civil dispute resolution.
Andrew’s litigation experience includes numerous civil interlocutory application, trials and appeals, and was notably involved in a high profile case that eventually found its way to the Court of Appeal on an important question of law concerning the jurisdiction of the Courts. He is also active in alternative forms of dispute resolution, including settlement negotiations, mediation and arbitration, and has also extended the application of his courtwork skills to family and criminal law practices.
Andrew has also involved himself in the Law Society’s efforts to extend free legal clinic to the public.
