Ms Malathi Das

Malathi Das has been a continuous member of the Council of the Law Society of Singapore since 1996 and is currently serving her fourth term as its Vice-President. Malathi is also Vice-President and Exco member of regional law organisation LAWASIA. She is Council representative on the Family Law Practice Committee of the Law Society and current Chair of the Family Law Section of LAWASIA. This is the second time she is chairing the Organising Committee of the LAWASIA Children and the Law Conference. Malathi practises in the field of commercial, intellectual property law and family litigation in Messrs Joyce A. Tan and Partners. She also tutors on the Family Law and Drafting module at the Postgraduate Practice Law Course run by the Board of Legal Education and regularly speaks at regional and international conference on family and gender-related topics and also conducts training and seminars locally for NGOs on family and child law topics. She has also published papers on family, gender and child related issues. She believes that these issues are best served by conferences such as this, which take a multi-disciplinary approach and involve all stakeholders in an exchange of ideas and perspectives.
