Dr Katijah Dawood

Dr Katijah Dawood, PhD (Social Work) is currently the Executive Director of SOMC (Centre for Family Harmony). She joined the Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society in August 2005 to set up a specialised centre for separated and divorced families. The Centre, established in July 2006 provides supervised access, supervised transfers, counselling, group programmes, training, workshops and research services for children from divorced families.

Dr Katijah conducts training in the area of legal and ethical issues, children and families; and personal development. She has also tutored with the University of Queensland, School of Social Work from 2002 to 2005. She has worked with MCYS and the Subordinate Courts, prior to pursuing her doctorate in 2002. She is currently is a member of the Family Violence Dialogue Group chaired by MCYS and The Police; Advisory and Discharge Committee, MCYS; and is chairing the Bedok Regional Family Violence Working Group.
