Professor Frank Bates

Professor Bates is a Professor of Law at the University of Newcastle (NSW). He has visiting positions elsewhere in Australia, the United States (Senior Fulbright Scholar, 1986, Lewis and Clark Law School and St. Mary’s University, San Antonio, Texas), United Kingdom (University of East Anglia, Hertfordshire) and Hong Kong. Professor Bates holds various government positions in Australia at Federal and State level. He has also published on law and related matters internationally, in various government reports and conference papers.
