Dr Justice A.R. Lakshmanan

The Honourable Chairman, Law Commission of India who has practiced for 23 years as a celebrated lawyer in Chennai has upon elevation served for 18 years as an Hon'ble Judge in four different High Courts and the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India for five years. His Lordship delivered 98,626 judgments in his judicial innings. As Chairman Law Commission of India, since 28 May 2007, His Lordship has given a large number of reports on various issues of law which need reform, change and enactment of new laws. His Lordships’s has to his credit three volumes of his books on Voice of Justice. An ardent reader and a prolific writer, His Lordships has a number of publications in Tamil script and English language. With his legal and academic acumen, he is Honorary Legal Editor of a large number of Indian publications and law commentries on diverse subjects.
