This Conference aims to promote discussion on a wide range of contemporary issues involving children and the law in the Asia Pacific region and beyond. It follows on from the two earlier successful events held in 2003 and 2005. It brings together not just experienced family practitioners and academics specialising in the area of child law, but also policy-makers who are in a position to shape policies pertaining to children and other professionals who work with children. Apart from examining current issues of concern, the Conference also seeks to encourage new ideas and promote exchange and sharing of information among practitioners of different jurisdictions, in particular Australia, India, Japan, Malaysia, the United Kingdom and Singapore.

Doing our bit for the Planet.

In keeping with the clean and green reputation of Singapore, we are pleased to announce that the Children and the Law Conference 2009 in Singapore will be an eco-friendly green Conference. We have done away with cumbersome conference satchels and voluminous folders of conference papers. All registered delegates will instead be given online access to Conference papers and materials one week ahead of the Conference up to one month after the Conference on our Conference website. As a record of the Conference, delegates will also receive a CD-Rom of conference papers in a specially designed foldable reusable green conference tote (which also doubles up as your shopping bag and means more luggage space for your souvenirs!).

Accreditation: This conference is accredited with the Law Society of Hong Kong with their kind support. Hong Kong legal practitioners will acquire 13 CPD points for attendance of the conference in Singapore.
