About the Conference Workshop
Proudly presented by the Civil Practice Committee of The Law Society of Singapore, the 2-day workshop (7 & 8 April 2016) is designed to allow practitioners to develop and hone their litigation skills on a practical level. As with the first workshop in 2014, Queen’s Counsel and Senior Counsel, together with senior members of the Singapore Bar, will be the trainers for this workshop.
The Workshop will be delivered using a case study approach and small group learning. Delegates will be grouped according to their years of practice and litigation experience for the breakout session. A shared and developing case study designed specifically for the Workshop will be used throughout both days by all delegates, covering the following topics:
Session 1: Understanding, Preparing & Presenting Your Case
Session 2: Interim & Chambers Advocacy
Session 3: Trial Advocacy
Session 4: Appellate Advocacy
Participants can also look forward to a mock cross-examination by trainers, and the sharing of insights on the handling of expert witnesses, and discussion of SICC (Singapore International Commercial Court) processes and procedures.
