14th Legal Practice Management Course 2012
7, 13 and 16 Feb 2012, 9.00am-5.00pm, NTUC Business Centre
The 14th mandatory Legal Practice Management Course 2012 (the 'LPMC') is a comprehensive programme which aims to equip lawyers with the critical knowledge and skills to run and manage a law practice.
For mandatory registrants:
If you intend to practise as sole proprietor, partner or director of a Singapore law practice, it is mandatory for you to attend the LPMC. This mandatory training requirement under section 75C(1) Legal Profession Act applies to all lawyers
UNLESS
the lawyer has already been in practice as a sole proprietor or partner or director of a law practice before
9 March 2007
. Your presence for all modules for the entire duration of the course is required to fulfil your obligations under section 75C(1) Legal Profession Act.
Pursuant to section 75C(5) Legal Profession Act, a breach of these requirements constitutes an offence, upon conviction of which the lawyer is liable to a fine not exceeding $10,000. To find out more about the requirements of section 75C, please click

For mandatory registrants, please complete and send us a Notice of Registration and Undertaking to Complete Course (in duplicate) no later than the date of commencement of practice as a sole proprietor or partner or director of a law practice. Click

Please note that the Notice of Registration and Undertaking to Complete Course (in duplicate) as well as the LPMC Registration Form should reach CPD Department by 5pm, 27 January 2012 (Friday).
For voluntary registrants:
The LPMC is also open to any lawyer interested in learning more about managing a legal practice effectively and such interested lawyers may register for 1 or more modules of this course.

The Annual Bowling Masters 2012

Once again, the Law Society Annual Bowling Masters 2012 is here! The tournament is open to members, support staff of law practices, lawyers and staff of foreign firms in joint law ventures and off-shore law firms, in-house counsel, practice trainees, members of the judiciary, legal officers and staff from the judiciary and legal service.
