Community Organisation Legal Clinic

The Community Organisation Legal Clinic is a service where an organisation may seek free basic legal advice and information. The organisation will be able to consult a qualified lawyer on a one-to-one basis in a 30-minute session.

Who is it for?

The Community Organisation Legal Clinic is open to charities, voluntary welfare organisations, non-profit organisations and social enterprises in Singapore with an objective to meet community concerns or needs.

How Does an Organisation Seek Help?

The organisation first needs to register with the Pro Bono Services Office before its authorised representative can attend the Community Organisation Legal Clinic.

To register, the organisation may:

  • send an authorised representative to visit the Pro Bono Services Office located on level 5 of the Subordinate Courts;
  • call the Pro Bono Services Office at 6536 0650; or
  • download the application form and return the same via fax at 6534 5237 or e-mail at probonoservices@lawsoc.org.sg.

After registration, an appointment will be scheduled for the organisation's authorised representative to meet the lawyer at the Community Organisation Legal Clinic.

What Must the Authorised Representative Bring?

The authorised representative will need to bring his/her identity card and name card (if available), and any documents relevant to the matter.

Does the Organisation Have to Pay?

No, the legal clinic is free. However, the organisation's authorised representative will have to sign an indemnity form stating that the organisation will not seek any damages or make any claim arising from the advice given at the legal clinic.

How to Get the Best out of this Service?

Each session with the lawyer is limited to 30 minutes. The authorised representative should arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time to ensure that he/she is not late for the appointment.
