Experience
Patrick Tan is the founder and CEO of our firm and specializes in commercial litigation and dispute resolution, wealth and legacy management, and real estate. He is a Commissioner for Oaths, as well as an accredited Associate Mediator, appointed by the Singapore Mediation Centre and the Primary Dispute Resolution Centre of the Subordinate Courts of Singapore.
Patrick obtained an LL.B. (Hons) at the University of Nottingham. He received top honours, clinching several academic prizes in land law, company law and partnership law. Whilst at Nottingham, he served as an editor on the editorial boards of the university's Law Society and Malaysian and Singaporean Society.
Not only well-versed in legal know-how but also well-spoken and charismatic, Patrick is a highly sought-after seminar speaker. He has been engaged by a plethora of organisations, ranging from Multi-National Corporations such as British American Tobacco to governmental boards such as the Ministry of Defence.
In 2005, Patrick was nominated for the Spirit of Enterprise Award in Singapore for founding M/s Patrick Tan & Associates (“PTA”), as it was then known.

Experience
Diana Chin is a Legal Associate in our Private Client Practice Group. She specialises in Family Law. She is experienced in advising and representing individuals in their matrimonial disputes, as well as guiding individuals in proceedings relating to maintenance, protection orders, divorce, adoption, appointment of deputy under the Mental Capacity Act, and the application for Probate and Letters of Administration. Diana also has vast experience in work relating to bankruptcy and individual insolvency.
Diana obtained an LL.B. (Hons) at the University of Hull, United Kingdom and was called to the Utter Bar in London in 2001. Diana subsequently obtained a Graduate Diploma in Singapore Law at the National University of Singapore and was admitted to the Singapore bar in 2003.
Diana also volunteers regularly with legal clinics held at various local community centres.
Diana joined the firm in 2010 and speaks fluent English and Chinese.

Alfred Lim

Experience
Alfred is a Legal Associate in our Corporate Client Practice Group. He specialises in general litigation, with a particular emphasis on construction and engineering disputes. Alfred has vast experience involving litigation and arbitration at all levels of Singapore's courts as well as non-contentious work such as the drafting of commercial contracts.
Alfred obtained a Bachelor of Engineering, Civil (Hons) before he obtained an LLB(Hons) at the National University of Singapore. Whilst in law school, Alfred achieved the title of "2nd runner-up" in the prestigious Advocacy Cup Competition, organised by Drew & Napier, one of Singapore's biggest law firms. Alfred commenced his legal practice in the litigation and dispute resolution department of a "Big Four" leading law firm, where he completed his pupillage with a Senior Counsel.
Recently, Alfred also authored the chapter on Contract Law in the 4th edition of "You and the Law", a legal guide published by the Law Society of Singapore.
Alfred joined the firm in 2011 and speaks fluent English, Mandarin and Hokkien.

Assisting in a 19-day High Court trial and appeal to the Court of Appeal in relation to a defamation suit against the President of a social club. Parties have filed cross-appeals to the Court of Appeal and judgment has been reserved.
Assisting in an arbitration hearing involving multi-million dollar claims for variations, delays and defects rectification in a high-end residential development.
Assisting in the defence of multi-million dollar claims in relation to shareholder and breach of agreement disputes involving multiple plaintiff, defendants and third parties.
Alfred's work with MOM includes:
Leading and training a team of prosecutors in the enforcement of the Factories Act (now Workplace Safety and Health Act)
Drafting the Workplace Safety and Health Act (Act 7 of 2006)
Representing MOM in the enforcement of various statues, ranging from immigration and employment offences to Workmen Compensation Act offences
Alfred's criminal work includes:
Being one of two lead prosecutors in the prosecution of a high profile steel-latticework collapse which resulted in two fatalities and injuries to 29 others.
Prosecuting a multi-national process engineering company where a safety lapse resulted in two fatalities.
Prosecuting a multi-national construction company where a safety lapse in the maintenance of the lifting equipment resulted in one fatality.
Prosecuting various cases involving the harbouring of illegal immigrants, abuse of work passes and false declarations of work pass applications.
Successfully plea-bargaining and mitigating for an accused to be sentenced to a collective 9-month imprisonment term for 9 counts of offences under the Moneylenders Act (when the usual benchmark is about 16 months).
Successfully plea-bargained for 14 counts of various employment-related charges against the director of a company to be withdrawn and/or compounded.
Assisting in the prosecution of a high profile traffic accident which resulted in road rage.
Assisting in the prosecution of an outrage of modesty case where the accused had argued that he was legally blind.
Assisting in the prosecution of various cases involving fights between members of rival triad societies.

Experience
Josephus Tan is a Legal Associate in our Private Client Practice Group. He specialises in criminal defence. Josephus has had extensive criminal work experience involving the Subordinate Courts, the Juvenile Court, the Military Court, the High Court, the Court of Appeal and the Military Court of Appeal.
Josephus obtained an LLB (Hons) at the University of Southampton. As early as his university days, Josephus began demonstrating a passion backed by flair for criminal law. He scored outstandingly in the following courses: Criminal Law, Criminology, Youth Justice, and Penal Policy. Upon graduation, he completed his pupillage with Singapore’s renowned criminal lawyer, Mr. Subhas Anandan.
A firmA firm believer in pro bono publico, Josephus volunteers actively with the Criminal Legal Aid Scheme (CLAS) operated by the Law Society of Singapore and has also been appointed as an Assisting Counsel by the High Court Crime Registry for the Legal Assistance Scheme for Capital Offences (LASCO).
